The Wyoming Farm Bureau Federation wants agriculture producers to be aware of the Sept. 20 comment deadline on the Wyoming Livestock Board proposed changes to Chapter 15 Trichomoniasis rult

According to the Livestock Board's statement of reasons from their website: "The Wyoming Livestock Board in coordination with the cattle industry has been in the process of drafting prudent and practical revisionsto the Chapter 15 Trichomoniasis rules for several months. Trichomoniasis has continued to infect new herds in Wyoming in spite of the rules we have been using for several years and it is necessary to strengthen the rules tobetter protect the cattle industry from the disease. We believe the suggested changes will enhance the efforts to effectively deal with infected herds and clean up the disease from Wyoming's cattle population. The significant changes include a test requirement for exposed bulls.clarif ication of the test requirements for bulls sold through auction markets, female cattle from infected herds subject to quarantine, and a requirement for a Trichomoniasis Quarantine Release Plan. We are asking to have these revised rules sent out for public comment so the changes can be implemented following the summer breeding season."
