“The Wyoming Farm Bureau Federation appreciates and welcomes the administrations announcement of the $8 billion relief program for high fuel prices. Harvesting of crops and freight costs for livestock and forage transportation are some of the most fuel intensive times of year for food production, and these activities cannot be delayed.

The Harvest Fuel Relief program acknowledges relief for Title 1 commodities which in Wyoming include crops such as corn, soybeans, and wheat, while relief for other commodities will be announced later. We look forward to working with the administration to ensure livestock producers and alfalfa growers can get the support they need to continue growing food.

The temporary measures being addressed are appreciated, and we are eager to learn of the details to follow this overarching announcement. We also encourage long-term solutions to decrease fuel prices by increasing refining production in America.”
