Wyoming Farm Bureau 91st Annual Meeting November 11-13 in Cody – Oct. 22, 2010

Farm Bureau members will be “Riding for the Brand” at the 91st annual meeting of the Wyoming Farm Bureau Federation (WyFB) Nov. 11-13 at the Holiday Inn in Cody.  Featured speakers, American Farm Bureau Federation (AFBF) President Bob Stallman and AFBF Grassroots/Political Advocacy Director Cody Lyon, will address agriculture issues and their impact on Wyoming.

“Today’s Agriculture, Feeding the World” Forum Oct. 7 in Torrington – Sept. 16, 2010

–Free event open to public

TORRINGTON–A global perspective on the impact of technology on agriculture will be the first topic discussed at the Oct. 7 “Today’s Agriculture, Feeding the World” Forum held at the Eastern Wyoming College (EWC) Fine Arts Auditorium.  Dr. Gary Sides, with Pfizer Animal Health, presents a very entertaining, science based and global view of how we use technology to feed the world.  Dr. Sides will speak from 9-11 a.m.  The forum is open to the public.

“Ag Books for Kids” winners announced – June 7, 2010

Students from across Wyoming learned more about agriculture and were recently recognized for their participation in the 2010 Wyoming Farm Bureau (WyFB) “Ag Books for Kids” contests. The 2010 contests included: Coloring Contest for kindergarten and first grade; Poster Contest for second and third graders; and a Book Report Contest for fourth and fifth graders.

Wyoming Farm Bureau accepting requests for charitable contributions – April 12, 2010

Laramie–The Wyoming Farm Bureau Federation (WyFB) is accepting requests for charitable contributions for 2010.  Each year the organization is able to make charitable contributions thanks to a program offered by FBL Financial Group, Inc.

“We are proud to contribute financial assistance to organizations whose work benefits the agriculture industry in the state of Wyoming,” Perry Livingston, WyFB President, said.  “We encourage qualifying organizations to submit their proposals to us so they may be considered for this year’s charitable contributions budget.”

“Wyoming Agricultural Literacy Week” the week of March 21st – March 19, 2010

Recognizing the importance of the Wyoming agriculture industry and educating school children through reading, the week of March 21st is “Wyoming Agricultural Literacy Week.”  Wyoming Governor Dave Freudenthal made the state proclamation.

Educating Wyoming school children about agriculture is the goal of the Wyoming Farm Bureau Young Farmer and Rancher Committee “Ag Books for Kids” project.   2010 marks the sixth year of the project.  The Wyoming Farm Bureau Federation Young Farmer & Rancher Committee, along with the county Farm Bureaus, donates agriculture books each year to the elementary school libraries across Wyoming.

Wyoming Farm Bureau Federation Legislative Meeting Feb. 22-23 in Cheyenne – Feb. 8, 2010

Appropriations and taxation in Wyoming, climate change, local television channels, grasshopper outlook and legislative reports are a few of the topics that will be presented at the 2010 Wyoming Farm Bureau Federation Legislative Meeting Feb. 22-23.  The meeting will be at the Holiday Inn in Cheyenne.

Held annually to coincide with the legislative session, the meeting provides Farm Bureau members the opportunity to meet with their legislators one-on-one and receive updates on current issues.
