County Scholarship Deadline - April 1, 2012

College Scholarships Awarded for 2011-12

The Johnson County Farm Bureau awarded five $500 scholarships for the 2011-12 school year. Two recipients are continuing college students: Andrew Borgialli and Kelly Curuchet. Graduating seniors receiving scholarships are Jordanne Guthmiller, Dallas Shaw and Sara Goni.

Borgialli is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Borgialli from Buffalo. He will be a junior at Chadron State College and he is majoring in Business Education.

Curuchet is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Curuchet from Kaycee. She will be a senior at UW and is majoring in Business Administration.

Guthmiller is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Stricker from Buffalo. She will attend Gillette College this fall and study nursing.

Shaw is the daughter of Cody Shaw from Buffalo and Sherry Oster. She will attend Chadron State College this fall to play basketball and major in criminal justice.

Goni is the daughter of Victor Goni and Bobbi Taylor from Kaycee. She plans on attending LCCC this fall and will study agriculture.

County Young Farmer & Rancher Program

Anyone between the ages of 18-35 are invited to join the Young Farmer and Rancher group. For more information call Jackie Benton at 684-5902.

Johnson County Farm Bureau Meetings

All meetings begin at 7 p.m. at the Farm Bureau Insurance Office unless otherwise noted January 11, March 8, May 10, October 11. The Johnson County Farm Bureau picnic and annual meeting is August 28 at noon at the Watt Cabin on Middle Fork. The Johnson County Farm Bureau resolutions meeting is September 13 at 7 p.m.at the Farm Bureau office in Buffalo.
