Committee

The purpose of the YF&R Committee is: To give young farmers and ranchers, serving as a committee within the organization structure, the opportunity to recommend programs and activities that will encourage participation of young farmers and ranchers in both the YF&R and total Farm Bureau program. Committee members serve a two-year term. Each district has one position open for election each year during the fall. An individual or a couple can hold each committee position. Excellence in Agriculture Award

Designed as an opportunity for young farmers & ranchers, while actively contributing and growing through their involvement in Farm Bureau and agriculture, to earn recognition. Participants will be judged on their involvement in agriculture, leadership ability, involvement and participation in Farm Bureau and other organizations. This competition is judged by the applications that are submitted. Achievement Award

Designed to recognize those young farmers and ranchers that have excelled in their farming/ranching operations and honed their leadership abilities to superiority. The contestants will be evaluated on a combination of their farming operation growth and financial progress of operation, Farm Bureau leadership, as well as leadership outside of Farm Bureau. More specifically, the judges will be looking for excellence in management, growth and scope of the enterprise and self-initiative that have been displayed throughout the operation. Discussion Meet

2016 Competition:  Nov. 10-12, 2016 in Laramie The Discussion Meet contest is designed to simulate a committee meeting where discussion and active participation are expected from each participant. This competition is evaluated on an exchange of ideas and information on a pre-determined topic. The judges are looking for the contestant that offers constructive criticism, cooperation, and communication while analyzing agricultural problems and developing solutions. YF&R Conference

Wyoming Farm Bureau Young Farmer & Rancher 2017 Conference Jan. 20-21, 2017 in Jackson Hole, Wyoming Agenda and Registration–Due Jan. 6, 2017 (Click this link for registration, agenda and hotel information.) Make plans to attend now and network with other young farmers and ranchers from around Wyoming.
