Farm Bureau Denounces Federal Overreach on States’ Water Rights – Sept. 10, 2014

Washington, D.C., September 10, 2014 – The Forest Service’s latest attempt to take water rights from farmers and ranchers violates fundamental constitutional protections, the Colorado Farm Bureau and the American Farm Bureau Federation said today. The proposed Forest Service Groundwater Directive, they said, would circumvent state water rights and give the agency unprecedented control over water use in the West.

Landowners file trespass lawsuit against Western Watersheds Project – June 13, 2014

The United States and Wyoming Constitutions hold the ownership and protection of private property, including the right to exclude third parties, in the highest regard.  Regardless whether your private property is your backyard in town or rangeland in the country, trespassing is illegal.

Fifteen landowners in Fremont County, Wyoming and Lincoln County, Wyoming have filed a civil trespass lawsuit in Wyoming District Court, Fremont County, against Western Watersheds Project, Inc. (WWP) and Jonathan Ratner, WWP Director for Wyoming, Utah and Colorado, and John Does 1-10 with the Western Watersheds Project, Inc. for intentionally and without landowner permission trespassing and entering private property.

Wyoming Farm Bureau awards nine scholarships – June 2014

LaramieThe Wyoming Farm Bureau Federation recently awarded nine college scholarships to the children of Farm Bureau members.

“Providing opportunities for our members’ children to receive a college education is what the Farm Bureau scholarship program is about,” Wyoming Farm Bureau President Perry Livingston said.  “This year the Wyoming Farm Bureau Federation will provide $5,500 in college scholarships to children of Farm Bureau members.  Additionally, most county Farm Bureaus also offer scholarships.”
