Casper, November 12, 2005

Perry Livingston, of Sundance, was elected president of the Wyoming Farm Bureau Federation by the delegates of the 86th annual meeting held in Casper. Livingston will lead the states largest agriculture organization through the next year.

Thank you for your vote, Livingston said. I look forward to the challenge and am proud to serve.

Livingstons roots run deep in agriculture and Farm Bureau. He and his wife, Carla, ranch in Crook and Weston County with Perrys parents. They have two grown sons.

The Livingston Farm Bureau heritage dates back to the 1960s when Perrys grandfather, Herbert D. Livingston, served as WyFB President for ten years. Perrys father, Buddy Livingston, has served on the state Farm Bureau board and as WyFBs lobbyist for many years.

Prior to election, Livingston served as WyFB vice president for six years. He succeeds Karen Henry who served as president for eleven years.

Jim Hefenieder, of Worland, was elected vice president. Hefenieder (prounounced Hefeneeder) has a strong background in Farm Bureau. He has served as director-at-large, as a WyFB lobbyist and on American Farm Bureau Federation commodity advisory committees.

He and his wife, Beth, farm in Washakie County. Having served in the capacity of creating policy and implementing policy for this organization, I bring a unique perspective to the board, Hefenieder told the delegates. Thank you for the opportunity.

Dan Carlat, of Johnson County, will fill the director-at-large position. Carlat and his wife, Linda, operate a cow/calf operation near Buffalo.

Other new board members include: David Garber, Kevin Baars and Chalsey Kortes. Garber, of Sheridan County, is the new Northeast District Director. He replaces Jw Nuckolls of Crook County. Baars, of Niobrara County, will represent the Southeast District as their director on the WyFB board. He replaces Elden Baldwin, of Goshen County. Chalsey Kortes will join the board as the Young Farmer and Rancher State Chair.
